It's really hard to eat clean all the time, especially in the United States. We're busy, we're picky, we don't like to cook, we buy food from health food stores, and yet we still struggle with weight, energy, brain fog, and hormone imbalance.
When I went to Portugal in April my faced cleared up! Despite the fact that I ate pizza, tacos, gelato and their amazing staple dessert called Pastel de Nata every day. I came home, had a Cobb salad at a restaurant (no bacon or bleu cheese!) and my face broke out. :( That's SO frustrating!
And then, we buy things at Mother's or Sprouts or Trader Joe's and we think it's healthy, but so many of those things contain soybean oil and sunflower oil, or Reb M or A. All of those things, plus many more, cause liver sluggishness, kidney issues, inflammation, hormone imbalance, digestion issues, insomnia, etc.
You have to be your own advocate and you have to figure out what your body specifically likes, doesn't like, needs, and doesn't need.
A client sent me a video of an interview of a Stanford educated doctor, and I couldn't stop watching. Everything her and her brother shared: health stats on adults and KIDS, behind the scenes business info, information about big pharma, farming practices, was fascinating and maddening and inspiring!
So check it out. Watch it in bite-sized pieces. Take notes, and let it change the way you think about food. <3
