When I first went gluten-free I tried everything. I was determined to keep eating toast and sandwiches. I tried Trader Joe's gluten-free bread. I tried Canyon Bakehouse from Sprouts. I didn't really check the ingredients though. I was just happy it was gluten-free!
But every time I made a sandwich with my uncured turkey, my avocado, mustard, cayenne, raw cheddar and lettuce, I felt SO bloated afterwards. It was super uncomfortable. And then I was gassy for hours. I finally looked at the ingredients and it was super disappointing. Potato starch. Corn flour. Tapioca flour. Sugar. No wonder I felt horrible. :\ It checked the gluten-free box, but it was still junk.
Even if you don't feel bloated when you eat the above mentioned breads, I still highly recommend cleaning up your breads. Here are 2 brands that I really like:
Simple Kneads - https://www.simplekneads.com/shop/ - I love the sourdough and the cinnamon raisin breads myself, but they also have pumpernickel and quinoa. They come in 4 packs, and I stock up when they have sales. They freeze really well and work well for sandwiches. They're having a 20% off sale right now so check them out!
Pacha- https://livepacha.com/collections/all - this bread is very different from Simple Kneads. It's made from buckwheat, which is a pretty dense flour, but it's good! This bread is better for toasting!
Enjoy!!
